Yes - you can let shoppers add optional protection themselves and choose whether to include it. On the cart page this works on every Shopify plan. Adding it to the checkout page itself uses Shopify's checkout editor, which Shopify makes available on Shopify Plus, so Plus stores can offer it in both places. Either way, when a customer opts in, they pay for the coverage, so it stops being a cost you absorb. Whether it also earns you a margin depends on the rates in your U-PIC agreement. - Who pays for the insurance, me or my customer?
