Shipping Insurance Coverage - Customer Guide (FAQ)
What is Shipping Insurance coverage?
Shipping Insurance coverage is an optional part of the Merchant's order protection program. It supports how the Merchant handles certain shipping problems that may happen while your package is in transit, such as loss, damage, or non-delivery, subject to limits and exclusions.
This coverage is not an insurance policy issued to you.
What should I do if there's a shipping problem?
If there's an issue with your shipment, contact the Merchant using the customer support options provided with your order.
The Merchant is responsible for resolving the issue with you. Depending on the situation and the Merchant's policies, the resolution may include a refund, a replacement or reshipment, or store credit.
Shipping issues must be reported within the Merchant's stated reporting timeframe.
How does insurance fit into this?
Any shipping insurance related to this coverage is purchased by the Merchant for the Merchant's benefit. You are not insured under the Merchant's policy, do not file insurance claims, and do not receive insurance payments.
Insurance review or reimbursement occurs after the Merchant resolves your issue and does not delay or change the Merchant's responsibility to you.
What situations does this coverage generally apply to?
This coverage generally applies to shipping problems that occur while a package is in transit, such as loss, damage, or non-delivery.
It does not apply to every situation. Examples that are typically not included include issues that occur after confirmed delivery (such as theft), problems outside the carrier's custody, fraud or intentional acts, improper packaging, or excluded or restricted items, unless the Merchant clearly states otherwise.
Is this coverage optional, and what happens if my order changes?
Yes. Shipping Insurance is optional and may be selected at checkout for a specific order. By selecting coverage while checking out, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
If an order is fully cancelled before shipment, the coverage amount is typically refunded, subject to the Merchant's policies. If coverage is removed before checkout is completed, no charge applies.
Returns are handled under the Merchant's standard return policies. This coverage does not replace or change those policies.
How is my information used?
To administer this program, the Merchant may share order, shipping, and issue-related information with U-PIC and program administrators for claim review, fraud prevention, and recovery.
Who should I contact with questions?
For shipping issues or questions about Shipping Insurance coverage, contact the Merchant using the support options listed on the Merchant's website or in your order confirmation.
What happens if I select coverage for an excluded item?
If coverage is selected for an excluded or restricted item, Shipping Insurance does not apply to that item, even if added at checkout. Selecting coverage does not override exclusions or create eligibility for items that are not covered. Any refund of the Shipping Insurance fee, if applicable, is determined and issued by the Merchant according to the Merchant’s policies.
